- Start with the WHY. Focus on the true intent of gathering & let that dictate planning. Rethink the best way to gather around your purpose, rather than defaulting to societal norms
- WHO: Define who belongs and why. “By trying not to offend someone, you fail to protect the gathering.” Exclusion is okay when intentional
- WHERE:
- Venue “types” come with preset behaviors, choose wisely
- Think of the entrance/exit as the “pallet cleanser” for the gathering, put thought into this
- Incorporate senses. Have memorable moments happen in different spaces adding density to the experience
- HOW:
- Don’t be a chill host. “Being a ‘chill’ host is more about you caring about your guests’ perception of you, rather you actually caring about your guests.”
- The opening & the closing are the most important part. This is the time to evoke ethos, not for logistics
- Assign roles, set intentions, and/or declare rules. It actually reduces the stress of your guests to have preset etiquette, and it helps you protect the experience
Till next time, be blessed. 💕
With love,
